BK Häcken have completed the signing of attacker Mads Agger. The 26-year-old left-footed Danish forward joins on loan from Polish side Pogoń Szczecin for the remainder of the 2026 Allsvenskan season, according to a club report on August 31.
The deal also includes a purchase option. Agger, previously of Sønderjyske and Pogoń Szczecin, could make his debut as early as Saturday away to GAIS. BK Häcken's next match after that is the away fixture against Malmö FF on October 18, which you can follow on our fixtures page.
Who is the new attacker?
Mads Agger is a 26-year-old Danish offensive player. He describes himself as a fast winger good at running in behind and a reliable point scorer. "I want to contribute with offensive power," Agger said according to the BK Häcken report. He was a key player when Sønderjyske returned to the Danish top flight in 2023. Early in 2026, he moved to Pogoń Szczecin in Poland but had limited playing time there.
BK Häcken's football chief Martin Ericsson says the club has monitored Agger for a period in both Denmark and Poland. "He is a fast and dynamic offensive player with a good left foot," Ericsson said. He also notes that Agger is useful in set pieces and dangerous in behind both with and without the ball from the right flank. Agger expresses great anticipation for his new adventure. "I really look forward to getting started here," he said.
Where does he fit in the squad?
The arrival of Mads Agger gives the manager a new offensive option on the wing. His profile as a fast player who likes to attack spaces in behind complements the existing player types at Häcken. With a purchase option as part of the loan agreement, the club has the chance to evaluate him during the remaining matches of the autumn before any permanent decision is made.
Ahead of the final part of the season, where Häcken according to Agger hopes for at least a top-three finish, his offensive qualities could become important. Supporters can follow the squad's development and statistics on our squad and stats pages. His immediate chance to show his qualities comes on Saturday at Gamla Ullevi.
What does the loan mean for the season?
The acquisition of Mads Agger is a direct reinforcement ahead of the tough finale to the 2026 Allsvenskan. The loan covers exactly the rest of the season, giving the player a clear chance to adapt and contribute immediately. With a purchase option in place, the transaction is flexible for the club.
Martin Ericsson and BK Häcken warmly welcome the Danish attacker. Agger himself notes that he has long known Häcken as a well-organized club. His ambition is to contribute in the final third and help the team achieve its goals. The team's current league position can always be checked on our standings page.
Mads Agger's first potential match for BK Häcken is the away derby against GAIS on Saturday. His loan agreement runs through the entire autumn season until the end of the campaign.
