Häcken has completed a new signing. 23-year-old striker Joy Omewa joins from Nottingham Forest on a contract until 2029. Omewa comes most recently from the English second-tier club Nottingham Forest, who are currently in WSL 2. She has previously represented Danish clubs B93 and Fortuna Hjørring after leaving Nigeria early.
- Joy is a physically dominant player with a lot of power, but also a striker who is involved in the game and a killer in the box. Her instinct to score is clear and she always looks for the next opportunity, says football manager Martin Ericsson.
Häcken has a strong table position in the Swedish women's league and is one of the favorites to win the championship. Their next match is at home against Halmstad on August 16, 2026. Ben Engdahl and Filip Ohman are currently sidelined.
