On Thursday, Häcken faced Kalmar in what was expected to be an easy match given their status as favorites in the Allsvenskan. However, Kalmar's recent form had been anything but favorable, having lost six consecutive matches across six games.
The night took a dramatic turn when Aboubacar Keita scored for Häcken just 11 minutes into the game. Despite this early lead, Kalmar managed to equalize through Harry Hilvenius in the 24th minute. Hilvenius, who had previously only scored once since his time at P17, was quoted by TV4 saying: 'I think that was my first goal in the Allsvenskan since the cup.'
The match ended with a 1-1 draw, leaving Häcken with a misscount and losing ground in their pursuit of Sirius and Hammarby. Currently, Häcken is third in the standings with two points ahead of Djurgården, which has played fewer games.
Kalmar's Robert Gojani expressed confidence post-match: 'We know we are a good football club. Now it’s just about continuing to take these points, especially on away matches.'
