BK Häcken has loaned midfielder Sanders Ngabo to Danish club Lyngby Boldklub. The agreement, reported by fotbollskanalen.se, runs until summer 2027 and includes an option for the Danish club to make the move permanent.
The 22-year-old player arrived at Häcken one year ago from Danish side AC Horsens. During his time in Gothenburg, he made 13 appearances and scored one goal. He now seeks regular playing time, something that was difficult to guarantee in the Allsvenskan squad. Häcken faces a tough away match against Malmö FF on October 18th, a fixture you can follow on our fixtures page.
Why is Ngabo leaving BK Häcken?
Sanders Ngabo needs continuous playing time to develop. That was the main reason BK Häcken's football chief, Martin Ericsson, agreed to a loan deal. "Sanders is in need of continuous playing time," Ericsson told fotbollskanalen.se. The situation in Häcken's midfield is challenging, especially with key injured players like Ben Engdahl and Filip Ohman on our injuries list. Goalkeeper Andreas Linde also remains sidelined.
The loan to Lyngby gives Ngabo a chance to play regularly in a league he knows well. He previously made 27 first-team appearances for Lyngby, making the transition less risky. The club currently sits eleventh in the Superliga after six rounds, which you can check on our standings page.
What does the loan deal mean for Häcken?
The agreement is a loan until summer 2027. This means Ngabo will be away from Häcken for a long period. The included purchase option gives Lyngby the opportunity to make the transfer permanent if the player impresses. For Häcken, it frees up a squad place and part of the wage bill. This provides the club with flexibility ahead of upcoming transfer windows.
Martin Ericsson views the change of environment positively. "He is going to an environment he knows well and to a league that maintains high quality, so it feels like a good solution with fine conditions," stated the football chief. Häcken can now focus on building a stable midfield for the rest of the season, considering the current injury concerns.
What does Häcken's midfield situation look like now?
Ngabo's loan coincides with Häcken managing several important absences. Ben Engdahl and Filip Ohman are both injured and missing from midfield. This puts pressure on the remaining players to perform. The squad's depth is being tested significantly, making each match a new tactical puzzle for the coaching staff.
The club recently played against Västerås SK, and now the tough away trip to Malmö awaits. With Ngabo gone and several key players injured, others in the squad must take greater responsibility. Häcken will need to rely on its breadth and young talents to meet the upcoming challenges. You can see the full squad list on our squad page.
Sanders Ngabo, born in 2002, therefore leaves BK Häcken on loan to Danish Lyngby Boldklub until summer 2027.
