Häcken beats Mjällby despite players' night out Häcken defeated Mjällby 4-1 at home on Strandvallen. The match gained extra attention after several Mjällby players were out the night before.
What happened? The night before the match, several Mjällby players were out at a bar in Kristianstad. The club does not want to comment on how many players were involved or if they consumed alcohol, but they have spoken to the players about the incident. - We have had good talks with the players and this will not be repeated, says club director Jörgen Martinsson to P4 Blekinge. Mjällby has a clear alcohol policy and the club chief believes that all players know what applies.
Why it matters for Häcken Häcken still managed to win the match 4-1, showing the team's strength and focus. Mjällby is last in the Allsvenskan and has yet to win a match this season. - I fully understand that there are supporters who react negatively, of course, says club director Jörgen Martinsson.
What comes next? Häcken now has an important match against Malmö FF away on October 18, 2026. It will be a tough challenge for the team to continue their good form.
